Simple Shapes (Almost) Connecting
This font was originally concieved following a university lecture exploring modular typefaces.📓
It starts with a grid system, both a foundation and rule set for making shapes. The shapes are then arranged in ways that we start to recognise as letters. It really is that simple.
The choice to leave negative space between shapes gives the typeface a 'last piece of the puzzle' feeling where everything is one small step away from clicking into place.
Some people have said it reminds them of the tube map. Shout out Harry Beck
